What wasn'tworking.
Appointments lived in a paper diary, records in physical files, and billing in a separate desktop application that only one machine could run. Every patient interaction touched all three, and a single missing file could stall a consultation.
How weapproached it.
The front desk was the design centre, not the practitioner dashboard — most interactions start there and speed matters more than features. We built the scheduling and check-in flow first, migrated records in batches with the clinic verifying each batch, and added assisted summarisation only after the core system was in daily use.
What shipped.
Scheduling and check-in
Multi-practitioner calendar with room allocation, walk-in handling and a check-in queue visible to the whole floor.
Patient records
Consolidated history, documents and prescriptions per patient, with access scoped by role and every view logged.
Billing and invoicing
Invoice generation tied to completed consultations, with payment status and daily reconciliation.
Assisted note summarisation
Consultation notes drafted from dictation via model APIs, always presented for practitioner review before saving.
